  Grave-site Commemoration Ceremonies

At noon on Sunday, 21 February 2016, 98 commemorative ceremonies were held simultaneously at the grave sites or memorials of the 98 Vietnam Veterans who died on active service and are interred or commemorated in Victoria.The Geelong and District Vietnam Veterans Association Sub Branch held commemorative services at the Cobden Cemetery and the Camperdown Cemetery.

The ceremony at Camperdown was held at the grave of Gunner Ian James Scott, Service Number 3791583 to honour his life and sacrifice. Ian served with 12 Field Regiment.

At Cobden, Private Ralph James Niblett, Service Number 3798081 was honoured in the service at his graveside. Ralph served with 4th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment.

Both ceremonies were extremely well attended.
The deceased veteran's families, friends and large numbers of veterans appreciated the opportunity to gather with like minded people to remember and honour the ultimate sacrifice of both men in serving their country in the course of the Vietnam War.
